It really is great to be a Gamecock. Our program of late has been outstanding.

Some of the best writing advice I ever got was from my favorite teacher, Dr. Bolter.
She always preached the importance of thinking small. “Focus on the micro,” she said. “Broad stories are boring stories.”
And that’s my New Year advice. Think small.
I think the biggest problem we have with…

I’m going to work on pursuing short term goals over the next 12 months. I’ll reevaluate every couple months and update my accomplishments through this amazing website!
January thru March - Start running and working out again. My goal is 30 minutes per day. Either running, walking, or lifting weights. Anything to keep the heart rate up and help me prepare for goal number 2, which is a 5k in March.
March 17th - Charlotte, NC Run the Creek 5k. I’ll be preparing for this for the next couple months. Never ran a 5k before so I’m shooting in the dark with a time, but I am going to set my goal at 27 minutes but shoot for 25. I’ve always been a decent runner and I think that I should be able to keep a little over a 8 minute pace come March.
Spending more time reading my bible - This has been something I’ve been very slack on for the past couple months. Life changes has been a big reason for this, but not an excuse. Everyday I want to spend at least 30 minutes in the Gospels, reading a chapter and really studying it. Also want to keep a prayer journal and keep track of those mile-markers in my spiritual life. Since Sage is getting older I want to start a night time routine with her, reading a bible story and talking about it each night. We pray every night, but it’s time to dig more with my kids and their spiritual growth.
Be the best daddy - Everyday I want to spend time playing with my kids. For the most part I do this but I want to continue to spend that time with them, just being a kid. Horsey back rides, chase, doctor, cheerleading, barbies, tent house, whatever the game of choice is. As Isaac continues to gets bigger I’ll be able to transition to wrestling, rough housing, catch and other things. It’s important for me to be able to do all these things with my kids, and I look forward to the many adventures in 2012.
Be the best husband - Helping with the house, helping with kids, pampering the wife, and doing all the things already listed above will go towards this goal. My wife is amazing and puts up with me every single day of her life! So, I’m going to make sure that time is worth it! :)
Building my career - Not sure where this will actually go, but every month I want to further my education and entrepreneurship. That could be done through reading, networking, or a handful of other avenues. As long as I am continuing to learn and make LESS mistakes I will fill accomplished. There is a desire and passion in my life to be THE “SOMETHING” in an industry or profession. Figuring out that “Something” will be key, and I believe I’m not far way.
Can’t wait to get the New Year off to a proper start today and start chipping away at my life goals. Ultimately it all comes down to scheduling and “making” time for the things that are important. If you goals aren’t important, you won’t make time for them. Family, Faith and Fitness seem pretty important so you know I’ll be making progress!
Again, Happy 2012!

It’s just about the end of 2011 which could mean a handful of things for you tonight;
1.) You believe the hype with the Mayans and we won’t be here to celebrate this time next year, so party like its the last!
2.) You are writing your 2012 New Years resolutions and just realized that its easier to copy and paste from last year.
3.) You are getting ready to host a big party at your house. Full of food, drink and party favors.
4.) You have kids and will be in bed by 10:00 pm, so really it’s just another day.
Whichever category you fit in, maybe more than one, I hope everyone has a fantastic New Years eve and here’s to 2012!!

After a very long drawn out time on the “Paci” my wife and I have made a conscious effort to get rid of the, since birth friend, that my daughter craves. Before you non parent types start throwing my parenting skills out the door, let me remind you yet again……YOU ARE NOT A PARENT!
