Text Messages and Car Crashes
I always think its funny when I see people texting, or playing on their blackberry, flipping through a newspaper, sipping some cofee, and driving with their knee….all at the same time. I see this every single day of the week and wonder how these Morons can even be insured. My friend Dara was driving with a couple of the coaches from my gym last year and everyone in the car was terrified……except Dara. She had her iPOD in, jamming to some Emo music, texting her boyfriend paragraphs at a time, all while switching lanes with her elbow! Dara will probably never drive my coaches anywhere again, not because I won’t let her, but because they spent the 2 hour ride praying and holding on to the Oh Shit handles.
With all this said, I wreck my car today. Yep I was driving, heard my phone beep, I looked down to pick it up and WHAMMM! I rear ended this VW GLI, which by the way is built like a tank. Nothing happen to the VW, it sits a little bit higher than my little car, however my Mitsubishi slid under the VW and my hood folded back like a can of tuna. The lady was nice and didn’t file a report or anything, so fortunately my insurance will not go up. So please, if your phone beeps and you know its a text message…….DON”T ANSWER IT!!
