The Political Low
All I can say right now is WOW!! I find it hard to believe that the future leaders of our country are out campaigning………….live………….at the WWE. World Wrestling Entertainment, the male soap opera if you will. Now being a male I have watched my fair share of wrestling and even watch the payperview events quite regularly, but come on. I know that they are targeting a specific age group, and trying to get the “young” vote, but how many of them will remember? I guarantee you that half of the potential voters in the arena last night were so drunk that they don’t remember anything. To them they probably thought the ROCK was really in the house when Obama came out using his catch phrase. The older drunk wrestling fans probably paid no mind to Hilary, because they thought it was another random appearance by Mae Young. Its actually hilarious to me because this whole Democratic battle has really been, well, a joke. I know its all about trying to sway the young vote, but we as young voters should be concerned about real issues. I’m going to piss a lot of people off right now but that’s ok…….
Real issues, and I’m not talking about things like; Legalizing Marijuana, Abortion, death penalty, global warming, religion, blah blah blah.
All of those things, while important to some people, should not determine who you vote for. I am a Christian and I do not believe in abortion, I believe in legalizing marijuana, I believe in the death penalty and I don’t care what religion our President is. Now let me tell you why. The president can not make abortion legal or illegal. That is all based on each individual state. He may try to pass a bill one way or the other, but it will never make it out of the senate. It all comes down to the people on the local level, for most of the issues listed above. Do I want a President who is Christian, absolutely! Would I vote for one that wasn’t? Yes, if he was going to take care of the real issues at hand!
The war on terror, the economy, protecting my rights, affordable health-care(not universal) foreign relationships, jobs, education, etc.
Those are real issues that need to be looked at. Don’t vote for someone because you think they are “cool” or because they are a “woman”. Vote for the person that is going to make the biggest difference, not the person who thinks its time for a change (Obama) Bill Clinton was viewed as the “cool cat” when he ran for election. He played the sax, he was charismatic and charming, so on and so on. Many people voted for him just for those reasons, not because they thought he would make a difference. Make a list of things that are important to you as an American. Toss out the ones that are based on your beliefs and convictions, because that will honestly hinder your vote. Focus on the issues that concern America as a whole.
Don’t be mad at me! I know a lot of my Christian friends probably feel like I have jumped into a burning furnace, but I promise, I haven’t. I’ll be the first one to tell you that I want a Christian, good moral, unfaltering kind of man to be the president. Yes, I know I said man not woman. I do not believe a woman should run this country, unless its Condi Rice! The point is this politicians really only care about themselves. A politician is a politician. Just like a dog is a dog. The difference is that a politician can only wish he (or she) could lick themselves.
Don’t like it? Well tell me, express yourself! I love arguing!
