The return of LP’s???
Thats right everyone it seems like the vinyl your parents are use to is making a comeback. In the last couple of years the LP market has seen tremendous growth. From 2006-2007 LP shipments were up 36%! All of this started when a Fred Myers store accidently ordered a shipment of LP’s instead of CD’s. Instead of sending them back the company put them on their shelves and the results were amazing. Now, Fred Myer has made a corporate decision to stock LP’s at all of their stores. Even the big dogs are testing out the market, trying to see if they may be able to get a piece of this pie before everyone boxes up their albums…….once again. If you are a small music shop, technology store, or maybe have some old albums lying around, you may want to consider taking a small section of pie for yourself. LP’s may one day be no more, hell some day soon CD’s will probably be replaced! When something is revived you should sieze the opportunity to take advantage and make a quick buck. Or, keep it packed up and maybe one day it will be worth a TON! WHO KNOWS!! I just thought it was interesting that next time I go to Best Buy there will be LP’s available.
