Wow! President Bush has finally done something to maybe, just maybe, not make me and the rest of the country so mad! Lifting the ban on drilling is probably a move that should have happened 15 years ago! The original Gdub sign the stupid act into law and it took his oh so clever son, at the end of his term, to decide to lift the ban. Now don’t get too excited, it is still going to take a couple years for us to actual pull any oil from the seas, but it is a step in the right direction! The bad news is that this still has to pass through other systems to be finalized and for the ban to actually be lifted. Although it will take some time for oil production to start, it is a very clever move by Republicans. McCain is all for lifting the ban and opening up the waters for exploratory oil, while Obama is against it. This is more than likely a political stunt for the Republicans, an attempt to increase voter confidence if you will. What will probably happen is that this will get caught up in the senate until December and then will be forgotten about when Obama steps into office. Yep, still not sure if I voting for him, but it’s just about a sure thing in my mind that he will get elected! Nice Hail Marry attempt by the Republicans, but it looks like the ball is going to fall just short of the end zone!
