Wait for it….
Tim Mctee has made a list of “Obama’s Mistakes.” While I support efforts to hold a President accountable, I wish people would ask themselves, “Am I actually concerned about something or am I just a partisan hack?” I have no doubt that Obama will make some mistakes as President—but it’s a little early to start ennumerating them. He hasn’t had time to make any world-shaking decisions one way or another.
Some of Bush’s “mistakes” involve some serious allegations like misleading the country into war, setting up secret prisons, willful and continued constitutional violations, and so forth. Even if you’re still a Bush fan, you can recognize that the allegations are serious. I gave Bush the benefit of the doubt longer than most people did. I hope most people will do the same with Obama. Obama chose Rahm Emmanuel as White House Chief of Staff. Rahm’s a fiery guy. Does this signal something? Maybe—if you know what the White House Chief of Staff does. But most of us don’t. The Chief of Staff needs to get things done. Rahm can undoubtedly do this. Where’s the problem?
I suppose if you wan’t to be a contrarian, you might as well gripe about things. But you should also be intellectually honest with yourself. If you’re looking for something to be upset about, you’ll be able to find or fabricate it. But if you actually care about the country or are interested in something other soothing an ego bruised after supporting the loser, try to keep a bit of perspective until you have something to be upset about.
Here is the problem that I have with this…… In a recent post of yours, you stated that you didn’t really care for Harry Reid, because of his “hyper-partisan” view points. Doesn’t Mr. Rahm fall into this category?
“If I’m looking for something to be upset about, you’ll be able to find or fabricate it” That is exactly what you are doing when you talk about those Bush “Allegations” above. It’s all “conspiracy” talk if you ask me.
Bruised ego? Not at all, I’m just really nervous for our country. Obama has a GIGANTIC mess to clean up, and I think he needs a lot of help. He made some very big promises to the American people during his bid to the presidency, and now he has to be held accountable. Wanting to bitch and complain about his mistakes (every Sunday on The Tim blog) is just a way for me to shed light on what the media will never care about. Well, I’m sure fox news and Hannity will cover these issues also, but……..:)
