I know there is a lot going on in our country right now. Generals under fire, oil spills wreaking havoc, and the dreadfulness of world cup soccer (GO USA.) However, how has our government ignored the issue of 3 Americans being held hostage in Iran. This is very upsetting and disturbing. The media, for what there worth, have shed new light on this almost year long apprehension that makes things even worse. 3 American hikers were arrested by Iranian police, while they were Iraq! Iranian police have ZERO jurisdiction in another country, and over stepped their boundaries (quite literally) by arresting these Americans. Something needs to be done about this, quickly!

Sure, the guy has built an empire, well the Zuffa brothers have built one. However, Dana is the face of MMA at this time, I just hate his arrogance and cocky swager. Below is a brief article about him and while reading the article I continue to hate him even more. Your thoughts???

Every single day I read my MMA app on my iPhone, which is amazing I may add, and today one of the headlines is about how Brett Rogers is going to destroy Alistair Overeem. First of all, I’m not really a fan of either of these guys, I think Overeem is OVERrated and I think Rogers is a big ass phony. Rogers talks so much trash and has never delivered in a big fight. My guess is the outcome will be the same when he fights Alistair, however I honestly could care less. In my opinion until Fedor gets in the ring with Lesnar, we will never know who the best Heavyweight is. As of now, Rogers does not fall in that category, nor does Overeem.

So Honda has developed a new motorized unicycle that they have designed to compete with the segway market. It’s a pretty cool lithium battery operated device that balances itself, meaning if your tipsy, it won’t be. It operates on a wheel that spins every which way and I believe it is directed by foot pedals. This lazy device is kinda cool, yet at the same time another reason for people to not walk! I wonder who will replace Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens? It looks like it will give the supreme dominator, President Obama, even more power and support.

Washington (CNN) — Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens said Friday he will retire this year, giving President Obama another opportunity to shape the nation’s highest court.

Stevens, who turns 90 on April 20 and has served nearly 35 years on the court, announced his resignation in a brief letter delivered to the White House at 10:30 a.m. Friday.

“My dear Mr. President,” Stevens wrote. “Having concluded that it would be in the best interests of the court to have my successor appointed and confirmed well in advance of the commencement of the court’s next term, I shall retire from regular active service as an associate justice … effective the next day after the court rises for the summer recess this year.”

He signed it, “Most respectfully yours.”

Stevens was not on the bench for a brief public session Monday; the court will hold its next public session in two weeks.

Speculation over Stevens had increased after he confirmed last fall he hired only one law clerk for the next court term, which begins in October. Sitting justices can hire four law clerks, while retired members get only one.

The White House has quietly but actively prepared for weeks in anticipation of a vacancy, government sources said.

Obama nominated Justice Sonia Sotomayor last year, putting the first Latina on the court.

Democrats cited the choice as a uniting force among progressives, saying it gave the president a signature moment in his first year in office.

White House officials privately express hope another high-profile nomination would build political momentum in an election year.

“There isn’t an immediate candidate who could give them just as much [in] the second go-around,” said Thomas Goldstein, a prominent Washington lawyer and founder of Scotusblog online.

“There isn’t a candidate who has Justice Sotomayor’s personal history and also her ethnic background. But I think that the model for the administration is probably the same — get someone in there who doesn’t generate a lot of political heat against you and is a relatively easy person to confirm.”

Senate Republicans immediately laid down their markers Friday over what they expect from Obama.

“Every president has an obligation to nominate judges who understand and are committed to their proper role in our system of government,” said Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah. “As I have said for many years, someone who would be an activist judge, who would substitute their own views for what the law requires, is not qualified to serve on the federal bench.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, also cautioned against picking what he called an “activist” judge.

“Americans can expect Senate Republicans to make a sustained and vigorous case for judicial restraint and the fundamental importance of an evenhanded reading of the law,” McConnell said.

Democrats asked for a bipartisan approach. “At a time when Americans are yearning for bipartisanship, we hope the president will choose a candidate who both merits consensus support and lives up to Justice Stevens’ fine legacy,” said Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-New York. “We hope both sides of the aisle in the Senate would quickly confirm such a nominee.”

Stevens was nominated by President Ford and took his seat on December 19, 1975.

Before his appointment, he served from 1970 to 1975 as a judge on the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Stevens also was an associate counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee from 1951 to 1952 and was the second vice president of the Chicago Bar Association in 1970.

Stevens received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and later graduated from Northwestern University School of Law.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 and was a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Wiley Rutledge during the 1947 term. He was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1949.

He and his wife, Maryan Mulholland, have four children: John Joseph (deceased), Kathryn, Elizabeth Jane and Susan Roberta.

2 year blog anniversary

Yep, it’s been 2 years since I started my blog, and I have been reading all the past stuff that I put on here. My goal, starting today, is to write about a different topic everyday of the week. I use to do this when I first started, but now my 2 year blog goal is to write everyday about a different topic that I know something about. Here is the breakdown of the week.

Monday - I use to do a Monday Bitch every week, and guess what……….I’ll be bitching again starting on the day everyone hates the most….MONDAY!

Tuesday - Technology Tuesday, full of insightful gadgets and new electronics that you should all have. Or, maybe I’ll complain about something that sucks in Technology.

Wednesday - WTF (f meaning fricker, not what you normally would say) This is probably going to contain mostly pictures and odd stories.

Thursday - MMA day. I’ll post some good reading and thoughts about the MMA world and industry.

Friday - Politics…………..

Weekend -I’ll probably reblog a bunch of other peoples stuff, but don’t get mad if I post nothing……..I’m busy on the weekends!
