We could take this a step further and speculate that maybe the young voters who are still in support of Obama, are still waiting for handouts. They know that Obama is going to provide for them, so why work hard to attain anything. My opinion is that most 18 - 34 year olds are just plain lazy. They could find work, if they decided that working meant making money to provide for themselves and their families. Unfortunately, younger people do not view their job as a way to make money, they view it on a social, “how do I look” level. Meaning, it is bad to work at burger king, even if it provides the income I need. People are becoming more and more lazy, and my opinion is that the Government is not helping!

Barack Obama was elected President largely by an unprecedented outpouring of support from young voters, who responded both viscerally and intellectually to his message of hope and renewal. For them, it’s been a truly bleak sixteen months since his election. Over 7.1 million people between 16 and 34 are unemployed, and another 5 million or so have either given up looking or are working part time involuntarily. Almost 19 million people between ages 18 and 34 are uninsured. Young peoples’ dreams of independence, family formation, home ownership and careers have been on ice for well more than two years.

And yet among young people, support for the President has remained virtually unchanged (62% approval rating), while it has plummeted among their elders. What do young people know that their elders don’t? That it’s going to take more than a year to shake off the paralysis in Washington? That it may take several election cycles to purge the poisonous cynicism and fear that prevents us from addressing our nation’s real problems? That there are so many things that need to be addressed- not just health reform, but financial reform, climate change, renewal of our schools, redressing our nation’s toxic image abroad- that won’t go away unless they are dealt with?

I don’t think you voted wrong. Barack Obama is the person you thought he was when you voted for him, and he won’t be able to do what he needs to do without your help and support.

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan . One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU. One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, “God if you are real then I want you to knock me off this platform. I’ll give you exactly 15 min.” The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, “Here I am God, I’m still waiting.”

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there silently.

The other students, shocked and stunned, sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to. Noticeably shaken, he looked at the Marine and asked, “What in the world is the matter with you? Why did you do that?”

The Marine calmly replied, “God was too busy today protecting American soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me.”

The classroom erupted in cheers!

Well the jury is still out on his throwing technique, but based on his core drills at this weeks combine…………Tebow looks like the real deal! He was the tops in most categories from this weekend. Top in the vertical jump, 20 yard shuttle, 60 yar shuttle, 4th is the 40 yard dash, 2nd in Broad jump, and if he had done the bench press he would have killed the 21 reps that were put up. It’s still too early to tell, but Tebow has a real shot to be a real pro!
